It was a gnarly day at Cave Rock.
Monstrous waves rolled in from the depths of the ocean and threatened to devour any person that swam in their way.

To my untrained, rookie eye, the prospects of shooting in such smashing conditions seemed a little less than appealing. So, I found my perch on the sand and surveyed the killer sets that swept across my lens.
But, the west wind that blew the waves far above our heads, brought more than a kick of adrenaline. Change was brewing…

In an instant, I realised that capturing the ways of the ocean in frozen frames wasn’t enough. I needed to be in the water, feeling the energy and the power of the sea – witnessing each ripple and indentation form in thick walls of liquid heaven.

I soon learnt how to bodyboard and my in-water career started off with a bang.
Since I have become a part of the bodyboarding and seawater community, I have become completely addicted to the ocean and I am constantly in awe of its natural, unstaged beauty.

With or without an athlete in frame, my dream is to showcase the pure thrill that every surfer or bodyboarder experiences when taking the drop, or charging through the barrel.

What better way to share the natural, unstaged beauty of our home away from home, than through the moving medium of videography?
